This website does not collect Personal Data about you except for information that you voluntarily provide (for example, when you submit an email to us with comments about our website or products reviewed on the website and you do not specifically indicate that the information contained within is to be considered confidential or provide answers to a voluntary readership survey.) We do set cookies from time to time to better gage our readership level. No Personal Data is gathered via these cookies.

Personal Data is treated confidentially. We consider the following to be Personal Data: your name, address, phone number, date of birth, job, personal interests, credit card information, your e-mail address and data about the pages you visited on this website.

Personal Data Protection Policy for Job Applicants

  1. Application Of This Policy
    1. This Policy sets out the basis upon which we, Simple Solution Systems Pte Ltd (hereinafter the ‘Company’), may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process Personal Data (as defined below) of job applicants in accordance with the applicable data protection laws.
    2. This Policy applies to Personal Data in our possession or under our control, including Personal Data in the possession of organisations which we have engaged to collect, use, disclose or process Personal Data for our Purposes (as defined below).
    3. By submitting this application, you acknowledge, represent and warrant that:
      1. You have read and understood this Policy, and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data in accordance with this Policy for the Purposes defined below;
      2. You have obtained the necessary consents and/or permissions from your referees for us to use the information contained in your application to contact your referees as provided herein, if applicable;
      3. In the event that we have received your Personal Data from any third party pursuant to the Purposes (whether by way of your referees or otherwise), you warrant that such third party has been duly authorised by you to disclose your Personal Data to us for such Purposes.
  2. Personal Data
    1. As used in this Policy, "Personal Data" means data, whether true or not, about an employee or a job applicant who can be identified: (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access.
    2. Personal Data which we may collect includes, without limitation:
      1. your name or alias, gender, NRIC/FIN or passport number, date of birth, nationality, and country and city of birth;
      2. mailing address, telephone numbers, email address and other contact details;
      3. resume, educational qualifications, professional qualifications and certifications and employment references;
      4. employment and training history;
      5. work-related health issues and disabilities;
      6. photographs; and
      7. any other documents containing your Personal Data which are uploaded by you when submitting your application.
  3. Collection, Use And Disclosure Of Personal Data
    1. We generally collect Personal Data that you knowingly and voluntarily provide to us in the course of or in connection with your employment or job application (for the avoidance of doubt, this includes internship applications) with us, or via a third party who has been duly authorised by you to disclose your Personal Data to us (your “Authorised Representative”, which may include your job placement agent), after (i) you (or your Authorised Representative) have been notified of the purposes for which the data is collected, and (ii) you (or your Authorised Representative) have provided written consent to the collection and usage of your Personal Data for those purposes, or where collection and use of Personal Data without consent is permitted or required by the applicable data protection laws. We shall seek your consent before collecting any additional Personal Data and before using your Personal Data for a purpose which has not been notified to you (except where permitted or authorised by law).
    2. If you are a job applicant, your Personal Data will be collected and used by us for the following purposes, and we may disclose your Personal Data to third parties where necessary for the said purposes ("Purposes"), which are as follows:
      1. assessing and evaluating your suitability for employment in any current or prospective position within the company;
      2. verifying your identity and the accuracy of your personal details and other information provided;
      3. meeting legal, regulatory and other requirements, including the provision of assistance to law enforcement, judicial and other governing agencies;
      4. contacting you for the purposes of potential, present or future employment;
      5. responding to enquiries and requests from you or people you have authorised;
      6. carrying out due diligence or other screening activities that may be required by law or that may have been put in place by us;
      7. storing, hosting, backing up (whether for disaster recovery or otherwise) your Personal Data, whether within or outside of your jurisdiction;
      8. statistical analysis; and
      9. other administrative and management purposes as may be appropriate for the functioning of our business in relation to any of the above purposes.
    3. The Purposes may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us (for example, pursuant to a contract) has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter (including, where applicable, a period to enable us to enforce our rights under any contract with you).
  4. Security Of Your Personal Data
    1. To safeguard your Personal Data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks, we have introduced appropriate administrative, physical and technical measures.

  5. Retention Of Personal Data
    1. If your application is unsuccessful, we may retain your Personal Data for a reasonable period of time in accordance with legal requirements, the Purposes and other administrative purposes such as consideration for future vacancies. We may also contact you should opportunities arise in the future within our company.
    2. The Company may also host your Personal Data with a third-party cloud storage service.
  6. Withdrawal Of Consent
    1. You may withdraw your consent to our use and/or disclosure of your Personal Data for any of the purposes and in the manner as stated above at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer here.
    2. Please note that if you communicate your withdrawal of your consent for us to use and/or disclose your Personal Data for the purposes and in the manner as stated above, depending on the nature of your objection, we may not be in a position to continue to assess your suitability for employment with us or perform any contract we have with you. Our legal rights and remedies are expressly reserved in such an event.
    3. Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, we may require a reasonable period of time (depending on the complexity of the request and its impact on our relationship with you) for your request to be processed and for us to notify you of the consequences of us acceding to the same, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to us. In general, we shall seek to process and effect your request within thirty days of receiving it.
    4. Please note that withdrawing your consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose Personal Data where such collection, use and disclose without consent is permitted or required under applicable laws.
  7. Access To And Correction Of Personal Data
    1. If you wish to make (a) an access request for access to a copy of the Personal Data which we hold about you or information about the ways in which we use or disclose your Personal Data, or (b) a correction request to correct or update any of your Personal Data which we hold, you may submit your request by contacting our Data Protection Officer here.
    2. We will respond to your access request as soon as reasonably possible. Should we not be able to respond to your access request within thirty (30) days after receiving your access request, we will inform you in writing within thirty (30) days of the time by which we will be able to respond to your request. If we are unable to provide you with any Personal Data or to make a correction requested by you, we shall generally inform you of the reasons why we are unable to do so (except where we are not required to do so under the applicable data protection laws).

Please note that depending on the request that is being made, we may only need to provide you with access to the Personal Data contained in the documents requested, and not to the entire documents themselves. In those cases, it may be appropriate for us to simply provide you with confirmation of the Personal Data that our organisation has on record, if the record of your Personal Data forms a negligible part of the document.
