This project was to revamp the Standard Chartered Wholesale Banking Website, a site targeted at Standard Chartered Bank's Commercial Clients. The objective of this website revamp was to standardize the design branding of the Standard chartered corporate website.
The team at Standard Chartered had already conducted a focus group study on the corporate website design and its usability, as well the current wholesale banking website. The feedback and results from the study were fairly positive and there were some pointers which were deemed important considerations to be taken note of in revamping the existing design. One of the main feedback gleaned from the focus group was that the design of the corporate homepage was distracting as the background image keeps rotating. This also happened to be one of the strong brand “glues”. Thus the proposed design solution had a manageable background image with a section on the homepage as a rotating carousal so it was not distracting the users of the website.
One of the main complexities of the system was integrating the new design with their Content Management System which was robust but complicated to integrate with. Extensive customization and multiple templates and components had to be implemented in the system to allow ease of manageability for the web administrator and at the same time meet the design requirements.
